Cycle II, Week 5: Squat Day
Yesterday's nutrition: Fantastic.
Last night's sleep: 8 hours
Squats:
5 @ 45, 95, 145 lbs
5, 5, 7 @ 175 lbs (+10 lbs)
10, 10, 10 @ 115 lbs (+10 lbs)
Bulgarian Split Squat:
5 @ BW
15, 13, 12 @ 15 lbs
Crux of workout: 45 minutes
Bonus: 10 minutes treadmill
I went hiking for two hours yesterday. It was some pretty steep, rocky stuff. I wasn’t sure how my legs would feel, but given that they didn’t feel as “destroyed” as they did the last time I went hiking, I figured I’d squat anyway today.
I went to sleep with a MASSIVE headache. And woke up with a MASSIVE headache. Weird. I thought maybe it was because I overdid the caffeine yesterday. So, I took two tylenol, a more REASONABLE amount of instant coffee. Not much. I had a cup of Earl Grey, and crawled into bed for 45 minutes. I felt somewhat better but not enough. I took two advil and had a small breakfast. It started to go away. I dawdled enough where I had a smoothie before heading to the gym. My head felt a little weird, but almost no headachey.
This image kind of made me think “Huh, I don’t really clench my abs are part of my cues.” Whether that was the difference or not, I felt like I smashed the weights today. Not much else to say.
Oh, gym seems less packed Saturday afternoon than Saturday morning. Huh, fancy that.
