Momentum is the word for God
on the lips and hearts of artists everywhere.
Distractions are bad for you.
Indecision is bad for you.
Day jobs are bad for you.
Of course you have responsibilities
of course you have family and debts
a belly a groin a sleep cycle regrets
but minimize them
if you can
that you might sacrifice the rest of yourself
on the altar of the small-gee god Momentum.
If you got momentum,
you got something.
You don’t have everything,
you don’t have months of polishing
or connections or experience
or muse or perspective
but if you’ve got momentum,
you at least have something.
You might have to give it up
but never discard it lightly.
It doesn’t come just nightly
it won’t come back right when
you need it.
So if you got it,
love momentum,
feed it.
Momentum is the word for God
on the lips and hearts of artists everywhere.
And lucky hacks and craftsmen.
And stupid goofs with Bic pens.
And all of us.
Get on the bus.
