Plant Identification Challenge in Everyday Ramblings

Yesterday morning after I took the bus train to Salem I talked Kes into a short walk around the neighborhood. She asked me to take a picture of this fabulous array of color and spring exuberance because she wants to know what the middle white blooming plant is. Any ideas? I apologize for the glare and the lack of detail but it sure is a pretty mash up of color and texture.
We are at the beach on the Oregon coast. This year there is a particularly intense die off Velella velella, these small purple jellyfish like creatures because of the warm seas and storms we have had lately. They don’t smell but there are millions of them on the beach and it is sad. They are commonly called “purple sailors,” ”little sail,” and “by the wind sailors.” They are harmless to humans but I wouldn’t want to be swimming with a bunch of them. But then I am phobic about jellyfish.
We are having a mixed bag of weather. Rain and wind and sun.
It is so nice to get away. I haven’t had any chill time away from home for six months. I miss the cats and it was difficult to leave them. Carlo sprawled across my laptop case and wrapped his back paws around my keys and looked up at me with big sad eyes. He’s learned a lot about me in the last five months.
I am just here with Kes. Most Honorable will come down later today. It is only a little over an hour away for them.
We are so lucky to have an in at this place. The owner says that Kes and Most Honorable stay here so often that they are going to name a room after them. :) It is funny because it turns out S. and her husband and two dogs were down here last weekend. She knows someone across the street and down the block.
Because of the turn in the weather and the early hour I was able to walk on the beach this morning (Yeah for rain pants!) for an hour and not see another person. Just me and the gulls and a few peeps and all those sea creatures transitioning on to another level of existence.
My goal today… I don’t have a goal today…
If you know me, you know how unusual that is. Better get to it.
