    Cycle II, Week 4: Squat Day

    Yesterday's nutrition: good.
    Last night's sleep: 8.5 hours

    Squats:
    5 @ 45, 95, 145 lbs
    5, 5, 8 @ 165 lbs (+10 lbs)
    10, 10, 12 @ 105 lbs

    Bulgarian Split Squat:
    5 @ BW
    15, 15, 15 @ 10 lbs

    Crux of workout: 39 minutes
    Bonus: 10 minutes light treadmill

I slept a little more than usual, and one way or another, I felt more awake than usual. Which, ironically, meant I felt more anxious. It’s almost easier to kind of autopilot in the morning in some kind of zombie-mode, with the body being far more awake than the mind. Squat day is easily the most stressful workout, despite the fact that I squat over 100 lbs less than I deadlift. Deadz may be more demanding on the CNS, but squats are more psychologically taxing.

Ya know, all this looks so much easier on paper. As they say, the simplest program done balls to the wall is better than a complicated program done half-assed.

I think after my cardio day Monday, I’ll give myself a half-deload. Like, two days off, go in for a light deload workout, two more days off, and continue. My motivation’s good and my joints are in good shape - and I’d like to keep it that way.
