A productive day. in A small but passable life.

I spent over an hour this morning typing an entry. And lost it somewhere while copying and pasting. I then spent two hours trying to find where the fuck it went to. The Word program auto saves every five minutes and as slow as I type I know most of it should be somewhere. I even called Jassy for help. She tried.

And like a dumbass, here I sit actually thinking about trying to recreate the brilliance of this morning.

Anyway, yesterday was a somewhat productive day. Mom and I headed out at 9:30am. The first stop was the bank. I parked in a handicapped space and I waited in the car like a n obedient chauffer while she went in and did her business. Next stop was her hairdresser, Nikki. While Mom went in there I went around the corner to Dollar Tree and worked on our list. I went in and said “Hi” to Nikki. She’s going home to Thailand for a visit with family in July. She said the flight was 24 hours on the plane, about 30 hours total. Phoenix to Seattle to Tokyo to Bangkok. Crazy. Our last stop was Walmart. Mom bought me two pair of those cargo shorts the college kids wear, four white T-shirts, six pair of no-show socks, and a $20 pair of running shoes. The T-shirts, socks, and shoes are for the fitness room.

When we got home Mom took a break and then at 1pm I drove her over to the main building in the golf cart. I left the golf cart with her and walked over to the fitness room. I’d never went in there last winter while I was here. And, wow, other than looking like some sort of torture chamber, I was impressed. All new, what looked like very expensive equipment, and it looked like they had all the trending machines. There was a gal in there, Diane, who was nice enough to chat a bit about the various machines.

Mom got home and then laid down for a nap at 2pm and slept until 5pm.

Jassy called and we chatted for a bit. Her first day of work had went fine. Her manager had even bought her lunch. The only glitch was the van wouldn’t run after starting. She just hopped on the bus to go to work. Before I’d left I had shown her how to read the bus schedule and figure arrival times. She got to work fifteen minutes early.

So that was yesterday.

Today, after the mornings frustration, I headed to the pool. Wow, the place was deserted. All the snowbirds are flying back north, for sure. Three other people at the pool. I only spent an hour there and then headed over to the laundry room for a shave and shower. I do love the showers there. The showers over at the pool have a funky smell. I can’t really handle it.

Back at the house I read the big book all afternoon until I fixed some pork chops and scalloped potatoes for supper.

Mom just went to bed. I got to turn the living room TV off and open the patio door back up. Mom doesn’t like the blinds open after dark. Says she feels like she’s in a fishbowl. Whatever. We haven’t had the A/C on today and it was getting stuffy in here. I feels nice now.

Tomorrow we’re heading out early for Mom’s blood work. She can’t eat or drink beforehand so we want to get it done early so she can eat breakfast afterwards. After that we have several stops to make.

I received an email from the library saying that the first two of three books I’d ordered were waiting for pick-up. The new King and the new Gibson. The third one was the new Koontz.

Now I’ll have something to read at the pool. Nice.

So yeah, I’ll save this entry before I try to paste it.

Did I mention that both my brothers daughters are pregnant with their second child? Awesome! That will be seven great-grandbabies for Mom.
