Serious and fun! in blackpropaganda

With all the trouble going a round around the world it was fascinating to hear a programme in the religious slot this morning on the massacre of Armenians by the Turks in the Balkan peninsula in 1915. Over half a million Armenians - a minority Christian population in the Turkish Empire were killed - and many more displaced - the result of a clear government policy since the Turks were concerned they would be a fifth column in the war when the Empire was on the side of Germany. Turkey has never accepted is was state inspired genocide - but it is a reminder that destruction of a people because of race or religion did not start with the Nazis - although they took it many stages further.

So some serious stuff to start this Easter Sunday morning - when the phrase that come out most is ‘He is risen’ - although for the non-religious types that definitely has a different connotation - a prelude to something rather pleasant happening - if you get my drift.

Anyway,since Easter and pagan spring festivals all got combined there is no reason not to see a priapic aspect to the festival - and since rabbits are prolific shaggers there is an obvious reason to have an Easter bunny on cards - although they look much too Disneyfied for my liking.
