March is over in At the foot of the hill

I am hoping with the change of seasons I'll be more inspired to be creative...writing, painting, cleaning, etc. We did have an unusually nice winter here on the Front Range. Only one week of real cold weather and, as I recall, that was in March. April often brings snow showers, even spring blizzards, but we know summer will soon be here.
There are lots of birds flittering around in the trees off my deck and twittering; finches, chickadees, robins, a woodpecker or two. And the water birds (Canada geese, ducks and gulls) who live on our little lake are restless and noisy. The swallows will be here soon to raise their families (and make a mess of the windows!)
I spent some time out on the deck a couple of evenings ago, watching the birds and the people (and their dogs) walking, running, skating and bicycling around the lake path. Wish I had enough energy to join them.
Bob (Papa) has 8 more days to work at his volunteer job helping people with their taxes.
Our oldest grandson will be graduating from University of Northern Colorado next month. I understand that he will be participating in the ceremony, but I don't know if we will be getting tickets or not. I have mixed feelings about attending. Either way, I'm very proud of him for sticking it out, growing up, and figuring it all out.
I recently read "Unbroken" by Laura Hillenbrand. The movie is out and when Bob finishes reading the book, we might watch the movie, although I'm guessing it will leave lots of stuff out. I highly recommend the book.
