Sent a long text to my friend, he understood that I wasn’t up for what he had planned tonight/tomorrow. His only response question was to make sure I was still available for the Destiny Raid on Saturday. OF COURSE I’m available for that. That is where I get my social groove on. Which is actually kind of funny since I tend to block internet play generally. Like… something about a friend randomly coming into the game world disturbs me. It takes me from “sole fighter following my own path” and suddenly makes me “team player trying to make sure everyone has what they need.” Honestly, it is one of the big reasons I bought a Playstation 4 instead of an X Box One. X Box seems to have entirely abandoned the concept of Single Player because there is less money in it. But… uhm.... some of us still want single player games, dude. SOME of us still play video games, not to be social, but just to have something fun to do by ourselves. I get that in the world of constant social internet, that seems downright anti-social but… there is such a thing as too much.
Last night I spent over 100 dollars at the grocery store!! :o That rarely happens. Granted, I bought alcohol (adds a lot to the price) and ingredients for 3 recipes I’ll be doing this week but… I was surprised at the high cost.
Today I am just super sleepy. Don’t know why other than the usual. We’ve got a maintenance guy in here today and I have my fingers crossed. Our heater has been broken for about two years. We’ve set up work arounds and jerry-rigged the damned thing but every time we have a maintenance guy check it out… they don’t really do anything, tell us that we need to wait for a certain interval, and never come back. THIS guy today, at least, actually went out to buy an entirely new part and has been here for almost the entire day. So really hoping the damned thing gets fixed. But, of course, I won’t hold my breath.
As to catching up on PB friends.... oh my! I’ve read every unread entry from about 20% of my bookmarks/friends. Still have my work cut out for me but… I put that on myself. I demand from myself that I catch up thoroughly and that often means reading up to 15 entries per person. The plan for tonight is to do more reading… try desperately to get some laundry done… make this interesting, if weird, Ramen Noodle Omelette dish. Then when the wife comes home, have her try it to see if she likes it at all and watch Archer. Not that brilliant of a day but.... trying to be more chill today considering tomorrow is Marriage Counseling day.
I’ve seen loads of my friends list doing this so I figured, might as well:
DO YOU LIVE IN A HOUSE OR AN APARTMENT?
We have been in the same apartment since August 2011
WOULD YOU SAY IT IS BIG OR SMALL?
We certainly thought it was big when we moved in; but it feels considerably too small these days. ESPECIALLY the closet-sized kitchen
DO YOU HAVE A WELCOME MAT?
No. I’ve seen them in front of apartments but… it just doesn’t feel right to me as the hallway is Public Space
DOES IT SAY SOMETHING?
Question is entirely irrelevant
DO YOU HAVE A DISHWASHER OR DO YOU HAVE TO DO YOUR DISHES BY HAND?
We have a dishwasher and it has some nice features; but the Glassware portion is far too shallow
HOW MANY PLANTS DO YOU HAVE INSIDE?
We don’t have plants here. I kind of wish we did, I’d love to have plants and free flowing oxygen but… neither my wife or I are good with living things that don’t have the capability of whining
DO YOU HAVE A SPECIAL PLACE THAT YOU PUT YOUR KEYS?
Usually by the table next to the door. I don’t like doing that. I honestly wish we had the space to have a little Mail/Keys spot
IS YOUR REFRIGERATOR STOCKED WITH ANYTHING?
Ha! Right now, the Fridge is downright PACKED Ramen Noodle Omelette fixings; Cheesy-Dip Chicken fixings, and All Day Roast Beast fixings.
WHERE DO YOU KEEP YOUR BREAD?
On top of the microwave.
IS YOUR BATHROOM CLEAN?
Damned well better be, I spent a full day cleaning it this week
WHAT IS YOUR BATHROOM’S THEME?
Uhmm… function?
HOW MANY RUGS DO YOU HAVE IN YOUR DWELLING SPACE?
We don’t have a ton of rugs. My wife’s parents have a SHIT TON and so I think for now we’re just… not doing that.
DO YOU KNOW YOUR NEIGHBORS?
Our upstairs neighbors are super chatty. Or I should say the woman is. I honestly think she has some type of learning disorder. Not saying being social is a disorder but her lack of awareness about a lot of things is kind of suggestive of a disorder.
IF SO DO YOU GET ALONG WITH THEM?
I’ve mastered polite courtesy.
ARE THERE ANY STRAY CATS AROUND?
Not that I’ve seen.
DO YOU HAVE A DVD PLAYER IN YOUR BEDROOM?
Technically… we have a Blu-Ray player and an X Box which plays DVDs and Netflix
WHICH ROOM WOULD YOU SAY YOU SPEND THE MOST TIME IN?
The living room. The bedroom/desk area is too cold in the winter and the living room has my laptop, PS4, TV, Blu-Ray, X Box and HD Cable box
DO YOU HAVE A POOL OR JACUZZI WHERE YOU LIVE?
We have a teeny tiny pool that is closed 9 months out of the year. The three months it is open it is so overrun with screaming children, disaffected parents, and under-aged girls sun tanning that it is rarely enjoyed by this household.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE DVD THAT YOU OWN?
Ha! Impossible question. You’d have to narrow it by Genre, Category, Actor and then maybe I could give you a top 5
HOW ABOUT YOUR FAVORITE CD THAT YOU OWN? SHIT.
Most of my CDs are in digital format on my iPod right now. Though I still have to say Mortal Kombat soundtracks are typically some of my favorites
WHERE IS YOUR STEREO OR RADIO LOCATED IN YOUR HOME?
We don’t have any stereo equipment and our radios are strictly tied to (and used for) alarm clock purposes. Of course, I’d love to get a genuine stereo for both surround sound movies and to ACTUALLY PLAY MUSIC but that may have to wait until/if we get a house.
DO YOU HAVE A COFFEE MAKER?
Yes. I picked one up during law school because I thought it would come in handy. But… even law school could not force me into becoming a coffee drinker.
DO YOU HAVE AN AREA DESIGNATED FOR ALCOHOL?
Not like I want. Typically we store our alcohol next to the fridge unless it needs to be cold, then we just find space in the fridge. I really want something more like what my parents have which is a cupboard specifically for drinking purposes… it is where the alcohol, cocktail glasses, jiggers, shot glasses, mix instructions, and all of that stuff live.
HOW MANY TELEVISIONS DO YOU HAVE?
One in the living room, one in the bedroom, one in the desk/study area. So check this out… living in a two story house with my parents… there were 5 Televisions.... now living in a small 1.5 Bedroom Apartment with my wife… there are 3 televisions.
DO YOU HAVE STAIRS?
Nope.
WHAT KIND OF STUFF DO YOU HAVE ON YOUR WALLS?
Wedding photo, some Japanese traditional artwork, some 1950s photos of Tokyo, some of my wife’s photography, and my wife’s Black Belt Certification.
WHERE DO YOU KEEP YOUR TOOTHPASTE?
By the sink
DO YOU HAVE A DEN OR AN OFFICE?
The bedroom isn’t walled off from the smaller .5 bedroom space… so technically, the office area is an extension of the bedroom
DO YOU LIVE CLOSE TO ANY STORES?
There are no less than 3 strip malls surrounding this apartment complex
DO YOU HAVE A WALK IN CLOSET AND IF NOT WOULD YOU LIKE TO HAVE ONE?
It is strange. The only bedroom closet is literally a secondary hallway to the bathrooms. So… it is walk in, but not in the traditional sense.
DO YOU HAVE ANYTHING HANGING FROM THE CEILING?
A small aqua-colored lantern my mom gave us one year
DOES YOUR KITCHEN HAVE A THEME?
Cramped?
IS IT A PAIN TO DUST YOUR LIVING SPACE?
It is a pain to dust the living space because so much of what we have for collections get in the way. Whether DVD, Book, Figurine what have you
WHAT’S UNDER YOUR BED?
The wife uses it for storage for boxes and other things that… I just politely don’t ask questions
DO YOU HAVE A GAME SYSTEM?
Super Nintendo, Playstation 2, X Box 360 (2), Playstation 4, PC bought for Gaming
HOW MANY TELEPHONES ARE IN YOUR HOME?
Two cells.
DO YOU HAVE A FIREPLACE AND IF SO DO YOU USE IT OFTEN?
No fireplace, but I have a feeling that my wife will want one if we get a house.
WHAT KIND OF MICROWAVE DO YOU HAVE?
An old one that my wife claims to have “rescued” from a dumpster. Yes.... my wife and her mother do that.
DO YOU HAVE ANY FIGURINES OF ANGELS AROUND?
No, I don’t think so.
DO YOU LIKE TO OPEN THE BLINDS OR CURTAINS OR KEEP THEM SHUT?
We keep them shut constantly because we are the bottom floor apartment. I wish we could open them up and get some light in here, but for security purposes it totally makes sense not to open them up.
HOW MANY COMPUTERS ARE IN YOUR DWELLING SPACE?
Ever since my wife went crazy, the number skyrocketed. We have 1 PC, 3 Laptops, and 2 tablets. I only claim the PC and 1 laptop.
WHAT COMPANY DO YOU USE FOR INTERNET ACCESS AND HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
We use Cox. Don’t know how much it costs. My wife loves Cox and so I take the immature joke road often.
