Going Wild. Ha. in Everyday Ramblings

I did my stair walking in the rain this morning. I was wearing a waterproof jacket so my upper body stayed dry but my sweats got wet and when I returned home I clocked into work and didn’t realize I was sitting in damp pants until about an hour later. Now I am chilled and all bundled up. I am grateful I don’t live in a time where a chill can start a chain of events with no good end. Miasmic conditions during spring squalls and everything so damp… I even have a dehumidifier…

It did take months to get this place that I live (which is built into a hill) to be a normal humidity. Although there is a fan in the bathroom that I do use everyday, the outlet for moisture for the winter is not good and besides getting chilled, there was a pink mold production line in there and the clothes in the closet were slightly damp. Not good for the respiratory system. I am happy the dehumidifier works so well and soon, soon I will be able to start opening windows and letting some fresh air circulate.

Now I have my trusty rain pants on. It is almost lunchtime and I have a date to go trot around the track for a half hour or so. I like the track in the rain. As long as I am geared up properly it is quiet and I don’t have to share a lane.

I am trying to figure out, now that my gym is in bankruptcy, how to stop the automatic monthly dues payment. The bank says I need to wait for the next payment to process and then dispute it on the grounds that they are not providing services anymore. I did find the name of the attorney handling the bankruptcy and emailed them as well as the actual entity that is being dissolved in the bankruptcy. But I am not holding out any hope of a reply on those.

Did you know that Goodwill is now selling donated books on Amazon? I was looking for a book on local public staircases from about five years ago and this was one of the buying options. The book was in good shape and came right away and was about half with the shipping included what a new one would be.

I found the nearby staircase in it that S and I climbed a few weeks ago with the fabulous view. I climbed it yesterday on my own and I wanted to know how many steps there were. 180. It is concrete and was built in 1910. Love that. I had to go up slower than I wanted because a woman in her late 70’s was hiking up ahead of me. :)

I should be so lucky…

Dr. Bob finally got back to me about a massage and said that he is having some pretty serious problems with his eyes. Darn the aging thing, when the healer needs healing. He said that he did “sense” my sister passing the night she did. I am now firmly convinced that in her in between state she reached out to him to tell him to watch over me. This is a responsibility he says he is honored to take on. How sweet is that? He is good people.

I’ll see him in a couple of weeks if he can see well enough to work with me. I don’t know the particulars. You can bet I’ll be sending what healing energy I can muster his way.

I got a counseling appointment for midday this Wednesday. It is a win win, not only do I get to talk to a professional about this transitional phase in the life of my family I get to take the afternoon off work. Nimrod really likes people to think of him as being generous so he told me to go wild and take the whole afternoon off.

Of course I have to use vacation time but what the heck. No doubt any break from work will help.
