Windows Aflame in In My Dark Cave...

The windows seem greyer than I’ve ever witnessed,
The once bright light behind grows dim,
Nothing can bring that life back to me,
Kindle will only make it burn and sting,
For this hate will set the pyres ablaze,
In the dark we will see the fury in his eyes,
In the light we will see the mask that is worn,
Let down your guard, you’re first to die,
I’ve seen the flames behind these windows,
I know the burning scorch of their blue,
Sometimes I’d lose myself in that heat,
Other times my body burns right through,
But I’m always here, Watcher of the Windows,
Craving that powerful, steady blue flame,
I fear that they will soon dim and writhe,
But hope for a flicker just the same…
