Soon the Wedding will be here and gone. April 25 is the date.
I was talking with Doris, my date for the event, about how fast it is arriving and then I opened my mouth to remark that we will have to shop for her dress soon. Her eyebrows climbed over the top of her skull and reset at the bask of her neck. She told me that she a few dresses suitable for the occasion.
Social events such as this were handled either by Barbara, my first wife or Cindy my ex wife. In my infinite wisdom I did not seek advice from my Daughter-in-Laws and just went on in my masculine blindness and volunteered that I was buying the dress.
Doris is a woman I care a lot about but I do not feel nor does she that we will move in together. We each are separate individuals and like it that way. She has her life and I mine.
I am just throwing this out there for opinions. Am I correct to feel an obligation to pay for a dress she will wear to my Granddaughters’ Wedding ? I am covering the travel expenses and the lodgings .As I am typing I also thought other expenses’ like Nails and Hair so feel free to give me your Emile Post suggestions.
The above items will be where I draw the line and if she mentions nightgowns I will pass.
I have completed my March Madness Bracket picks and given them to the Pool Director. If I win the Pool then perhaps a side trip to Victoria’s Secret may be in the cards.
