Last night my sponsor Joe and his wife took Doris and I out for dinner in honor of my 26 th AA anniversary. Then we went to my meeting and I was shocked to see that about 10 other friends also showed for the event.
My group has dwindled to a small group but last night we ended up with 6 celebrants whose sobriety totaled 141 years. We have been together in the Fellowship for many years.
Last weekend Doris , Joe and Martha went to out third dinner dance. This was an expensive one but the dinner was a fantastic Chateau Briand that melted in my mouth, one of the best I have ever tasted. At my age I have become a Groupie for a Doo Wop Band, soundsofthestreet5.com/music.html
and we intend to go to more of their appearances. As well as dinner dances during the summer they will be playing mini concerts outdoors on various towns boardwalks. We expect to make a few of them.
Two of my grandkids will visit me this weekend and we will be going out to lunch Saturday. Joey and Katie have called and will be here and my Son Rob and his wife will come also.
Last weekend most of the women in my family were in Georgetown, Md., for the Bridal Shower for my eldest granddaughters’ April Wedding. Good things are happening in life.
