Oh snap. My wife would kill me if she knew what I did today!!

So… yesterday when I said my wife was angry that I missed work it comes from two places. First, it comes from the fact that I missed work. Just in general not something that would be greeted with joy, right. But the second place stems from sleep. Fibromyalgia patients can sleep forever. A colleague of mine in his 60s had a wife with Fibro and she would sleep straight from 10 pm to 2 pm as an average.

I experienced my own version of this before I was ever medicated. The girlfriend prior to my wife had a group of friends that loved to go camping. I enjoy camping as well, so we all went once. Six of us, three men and three women with the men being expected to do all the physical stuff. Of course… the men (besides me) in their infinite insecurity (we were 20 back then) brought weights and other stuff to make sure “they could still get a good workout in”. Dudes… we’re camping… we’re already roughing it and being super physical out here… you seriously had to bring your free weights? ::eye roll:: Anyway… that was when I first started Uber Sleeping. I was so exhausted from it all that I crashed hard and slept for 14 hours. When I woke up the then-girlfriend was so upset that I had missed so much of the day. Kay… whatever. A few hours later… I’m exhausted again from all the physical activity of the camping and hiking and everything. Remember… this was before I was medicated. So we all came back to the campsite and the other two guys started working out. I wish I were joking about that(!) Meanwhile, I go back in the tent and start sleeping again. My then-girlfriend was so disappointed that I wasn’t “proving my manhood” with the other guys and, instead, was going back to sleep.

So… fast forward to the now… my wife being upset at the sleep thing may be somewhat sensitive due to that. But seriously… my wife gets upset when I “waste the whole day sleeping” and that is precisely what I did today. I slept last night from 1 am to 7 am; woke up and fell back to sleep from 8 am to 11 am. My wife woke me up to show me today’s P90X Routine before she went to work. After she left… I sat down… fell back asleep. From 1 pm to 4:30 pm. So… all in all… 12 1/2 hours of sleep. I have to admit, I do feel better! But… that feeling better makes me really question whether I should do the P90X thing today. I mean… I’m not going to tell my wife how much sleep I got… she doesn’t need to know that and it would only upset her. But… it is 6 pm… do I really want to put in around 1 1/2 hours of working out right now and kill the rest of the day? I don’t know. I may do something. I may not.
