A very nerve wracking snowy Sat recap in Day to day life from a woman that turned 60 in Oct 2014 and who lives on a farm and Retired on January 2, 2016. I plan to do more sewing, work outside in the yard and just enjoy my retirement.

And the weatherpersons hit the mark. Winter weather we got and still will get today. At least 5” and more or less depending on where you live. Here I am guessing 6”. It fell fast enough yesterday to cause major accidents everywhere. The Interstate (I-44) will not open back up until sometime this morning because of the pile ups yesterday. I was on pins and needles most of the afternoon since my oldest son drives a big truck for Coke and my DIL works at a chain of Dollar stores 20 miles south of here. Isaiah, the youngest of their kids and my youngest grand stayed with me yesterday and ended up spending the night because his parents couldn’t get here. His dad ended up staying in the base town where he picks up his truck and he was going to stay with his father in law and step mother in law last night. My simple DIL got to close the store early (around 4pm) and I told her I would pay for her a motel room, but noooooo. She didn’t have any clean clothes. Good grief girl, you work at a Dollar store. Buy some. Her mom was on her way to their house from the town where she works, 30 miles east of here. I do know where my DIL gets her lack of sense now. Her mom did make it without using the interstate and then was going to turn around and go back. For real??? She ended up staying over at her daughter’s (my DIL) and thankfully my daughter and grandson had arrived home around 12 yesterday. I was so grateful that by 5 I knew where everyone was and they were safe. Whew this is hard on an old woman but thank God my son had enough sense not to try the 2ndary back roads to get from Rolla to home. I told both of them I would pay for rooms for them if they would stay off the roads. It was THAT bad and still is. I saw a picture on FB of the Branson streets and they are now ice covered. Looks like a skating rink for roads. Today promises to be another white knuckle day.
Not sure when someone will be able to get Isaiah, but he is fine with staying with me. For that I and his parents are grateful.
I’m sure there will no church services in most churches today.

Isaiah and I did a little project during the day and I will share a few pictures. All you need are empty toilet paper rolls peanut butter, bird seed, and I added some leftover popcorn we’d made. I had a piece of a dowl and used pipe cleaners to hang it.
Have a safe day and God Bless

I forgot I took a picture of my kitty. His name is “Big Kitty”. He had gone out for a few minutes but was ready to come back into the garage pretty quick. You can see snow flakes on his back as he’s getting his snack.
