I only spent a couple bouts in ydc. One was open custody and the other was secure. I was brought there on orders from my social worker who thought locking me up would stop me from running away. Once there I was promptly medicated. I think they overdid it dosage wise because I was ambulanced to children's hospital where I spent the next four days. When I was transfered back they had not medicated me and so after a few days they restarted my meds and I was once again nauseous. I was once again ambulanced to children's hospital and I remained there for a week. Somebody messed up the label on my meds and I was given twice the phenobarbital than I was supposed to receive. One pill twice daily not two pills twice daily. After a few days I went back to ydc and all was fine. When my body adjusted to the meds I escaped. It was open custody and the windows were open in the game room and the curtains were blowing so I hid behind the curtain climbed through the window and ran climbing over the fence. But this time I had someone with me. Up to this point I never did anything wrong except run away. This time would be different. Bill would drag me along on his mini crime spree and we ended up stealing three cars off of dealer lots and breaking into a drugstore to steal candy and food. Upon our capture asleep in the last car,we were both sent to secure detention. I went to court ended up with six months probation which I spent mostly in secure detention. I turned 12 in detention. One day my social worker came and picked me up . Thinking I was once again going to a fosterhome I stayed in the car thinking I could take off later. Boy was I ever wrong. I blew my last chance to run away for the next four years. Hello institution. Hello hell
