A cold walk coming. in A small but passable life.

Last Tuesday my brother and sis-in-law showed up, on their return from San Diego. Only they had detoured by way of Las Vegas. While in Vegas they got remarried by Elvis. Too cool.

I remember telling someone if she met me in Vegas after her divorce I’d marry her. She divorced her husband, blew me off for a retarded guy and then remarried her husband. Whatever.

I also remember being within a few miles of Vegas during the road trip of ‘09 and asking Francilynn if she wanted to go get married. She didn’t. Whatever.

So anyway, my brother and his wife boondocked on the highway outside the park until Friday. While they were here we went out to eat a few times. And we played Rummikub one night. Mom really enjoyed having them visit. They had no idea where they were going after they left here. All they knew is that they were going to Tucson first. We haven’t heard from them since they left here.

Jassy has completed most of the grocery shopping for my thirty day backpacking trip.

I’ve been checking the ten day weather forecast for back home. The first night back in the van is supposed to be down to six degrees. That may be a little harsh. There were a couple of single digit nights back in November before I decided that I wasn’t in the mood for Winter this year. Now I guess I’ll be getting the final dose of Winter. No time for acclimation. Whoever said life was supposed to be easy or comfortable. At least Jassy has laundered my three layers of sleepwear. She has also laundered my pillowcases and blankets. Nice.

I’m going to try to finish the current book tomorrow. Then I’ll throw everything in my suitcase. Then I’ll be ready to fly home Thursday morning.

Ready for a long walk once I get home. Probably a cold walk.
