Going White in QUOTIDIEN

A friend of mine, who has poise and grace, let her hair do as it would, and has gone completely white. She carries it off quite well. In fact, I'm a bit envious, and am now considering doing the same.

Unfortunately, I come from a long, long line of dark-haired, fair-skinned people. I tan well in the summer, but come September, I turn Casper white. Our hair turns white, but not until it has had a chance to streak silver. I've considered, after seeing her picture, foregoing the natural process, and just bleaching myself down to white.

It's just hair....right?
