Is it worth it? in Adventures in paradise

I don’t know what happened with Alex tonight. I texted him when I was at work letting him know that I probably wouldn’t be back in the city until 7pm or 8pm because I had a busy day. Between work and the movie and travelling back from the movie, I didn’t end up getting back until 7:30pm. I never received a reply to my text, so I guess I got flaked on tonight! He did suggest 6pm though, so maybe he got pissed off.

Ah well. The movie was actually really entertaining. There were five of us. Me, Moe, Steve, Sheldon and I was surprised to see my old housemate Ryan there! Ryan’s still the best housemate I’ve lived with to this day, and we keep in touch every now and then, which is nice, as I always enjoy his company. Turns out Sheldon had invited him along, and the more the merrier, especially mutual friends.
We went and saw “The Kinsmen”. The movie reminded me a lot of Kick Ass. It had a lot of action and comedy and the boys were on the edge of their seats. I wouldn’t say I was on the edge of mine, but it was certainly entertaining to watch and exceeded my expectations. Haven’t seen a movie that good in some time.

I’m coughing now though, so I think some bastard in that cinema must’ve had something, or maybe the air-conditioning in there was too cold or something. I was only wearing my shorts and a singlet and thongs, as it was too hot for anything else. And no I’m not correcting the word ‘thongs’ for any American readers, as we all know by now they aren’t the same thing in each of our countries.

I got a message from my brother’s fiance’ saying that she spoke to the girls at the Toowoomba YD, and they said I can just get my suit from a YD here in my city, now that I know what type it is and such. Why the hell couldn’t they tell me this 5 weeks ago!? I mean, I’d have to pay full-price for it, but it’d pretty much work out around the same price after I add on the price of the bus fare to Toowoomba and back, plus food etc etc. I’m not sure how that works with the other boys all getting their suits if I haven’t paid at the Toowoomba store, but if I can do that, it’d make things a fuckload easier. That means I’ll just have to go back into the city store here and deal with those ditsy girls again. I wonder if they even know how to measure up a suit :P

I was kinda looking forward to going to Toowoomba, but now that I think about this mini-cough I’ve got going on, I can just see a tickle occuring in my throat once I’m on the bus. There is nothing WORSE than having a cough when I’m stuck on a form of public transport and the cough won’t stop. Ergh. So now I’m worried that THAT might happen, and I’ll be getting disapproving eyes on me as I germ up a moving rectangular chamber with no way to get off of it.

God I’m cynical :P I just know myself too well these days. It’ll probably happen.
Which makes me more inclined to just get it done here. Surely it can’t be more than $300. I asked her how much it would be without the discount and she said probably $270. I’d guess maybe almost $290, I think I’ve figured out.
I’m sure the other boys can get their suits. Maybe my brother’s fiance’ is just trying to hurry me the fuck up. Now I’m left with a decision, to still go to Toowoomba (1.5 hour bus there and 1.5 hour bus back, $42 round-trip, and pay $240), or go and grab it here (short walk) and pay full price (Probably $290). And I’m probably buy a $5 scratchie to do on the bus, since it’s just something I’ve always done).

I’m glad I got that shift at work over with. It was one of those days where I just didn’t want to be there. I just felt weird too. Only a short shift though thankfully. Some old lady dropped a container of cream everywhere and was holding it up in her hands (bless her) but getting it all over herself. The poor old bitty was carrying about five different things and obviously couldn’t hold the cream, so KABAM, exploded stickiness all over the floor. Thankfully it was near the cage I was working. Luckily there was also a basket nearby that another customer had just left there, so I grabbed that for her to put her remaining items into, and proceeded to grab paper towel to soak up the cream.
My shift was up then, so I just left it for the manager to deal with. I told him about it and what I had left to do, and if he picks it up he’ll get cream all over himself. He said he’ll just kick it under the shelves (rolls eyes). He would do that.
I probably should have finished cleaning it up, but at least it was out of customers way and all covered up. I was OUTTA there. I wasn’t hanging around.
BYE Felicia!

Tomorrow we should have a new Prime Minister. Hopefully anyway. Thought it was worth mentioning for some reason. Probably cos I hate him.
