A sarong? in A small but passable life.

It rained yesterday morning. But by noon it was warm enough to go to the pool for a few hours. A good book, seventy-five degrees, and some very warm sun. Nice.

Jassy called and we talked for a while. I believe she is really enjoying being back in classes. She sounded busy and happy.

She’s still working on my thirty days in the wilderness grocery shopping list. I did order some dark chocolate. We’ll take it in whatever form is cheapest per ounce. And I said two pounds should be more than enough. That’s an ounce a day. That’s plenty.

Today, this morning, I was sitting here doing my morning thing when Mom came in from her sewing room. She ordered me up so we could go get a burger somewhere. Geez, Mom. We went to Jack in the Box. And then we went to the grocery store.

It had been cloudy all day and a little while after we got back home it started raining. It rained pretty hard there for a bit.

So yeah, I didn’t get any reading done today. Except for the lunch errand I’ve sat right here all day with the laptop on my lap. I watched a couple of movies and I watched tonight’s episode of Grey’s Anatomy.

The Superbowl is downtown this weekend. I guess there are still tickets available for a little over $6000. I’ll just sit here and see if I can hear the Blackhawks circling the Valley.

Rain is predicted for tomorrow. I think I’ll take the day off from the laptop tomorrow. We’ll see.

I’m compiling a list of everything I’ve brought but not used for this Winter trip. It will be a ridiculous list. The one thing that really threw me off was not really realizing that there wasn’t any chilly weather. Not even close. This is the first winter of my life where I’ve never worn a hat or needed to wear a flannel shirt, at least. Strange.

I showed Mom a picture of a sarong on Amazon. I like this one: http://www.amazon.com/World-Sarongs-Hibiscus-Sarong-Black/dp/B00OU6ZWX0/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1422595503&sr=8-5&keywords=sarong+men Right there, worn by a male model. I said I needed to get one of those. She just shook her head, sadly. Well hell, there’s old men here walking to the pool and back in bathrobes. I’m just thinking about being a little more stylish. Geez. Mom has already nixed the idea of a hammock slung up out there under the carport. Geez. I’m not even going to ask her for a stereo for her new golf cart. Heaven forbid if I decided to wear a Speedo (banana hammock?) instead of my baggy surfer shorts at the pool.

27 days until I’m walking city streets again. And probably wishing I’d added another thirty days to the trip.
