One word: tired. That something ‘nefarious’ that I felt coming on has been kicking my butt and I am s-o-o-o-o tired. It also started with a bit of a soreness on the right side of my throat on Friday, and has now expanded into my whole throat and has brought with it general muscle aches, headaches and TIRED. OH THE TIRED.

HOWEVER, it wasn’t bad enough for me to skip my first training session at the gym today. Luckily, my trainer went easy on me and it was a good workout without being too painful. I’m now officially in week 2 of my challenge, and although I’ve lost 3 lbs, I’m not so ‘into it.’ I need to get motivated, but… it’s not easy my friends. (That 3 lbs can essentially be attributed to cutting out sweets, I think).

Yesterday was a nice day off. Joaquin slept until a reasonable hour and was extra agreeable in the morning. Aaron and Joaquin went to the gym while I cranked out a work proposal, and they returned home before 11a so Aaron could shower up and head to an audition. I hung out with my dude and just lazed around the house, played with play-doh, colored trucks and boats and trains, and watched a bit of educational TV. Aaron’s mom came over a bit later in the afternoon to hang out for a bit, and after that we took Joaquin to Pirate Park and Joaquin had a good old time swinging, running and laughing. We took him out for sushi after that, and he was hilarious and awesome; he even taught himself how to eat with chopsticks (kind of). Then we headed home, put him in the bath and then snuggled in to watch Labyrinth, which quicky put him right to sleep. So snuggly.

Today has been productive but not overwhelming. I’m trying to take it easy so I don’t get any worse, so maybe tomorrow I’ll skip a workout and nap instead. Stay well, people.
