Pokemon Monopoly in Adventures in paradise

I was pretty flat-out at work yesterday, and that was even with hardly any LTO’s. The previous night’s load was massive and I just didn’t get enough time to complete it all. I only had about a cage left to go (from the ten I did) so I can’t complain too much. I ended up signing off and walking out. I’m not going to stay any longer than I have to, and the work will still be there when I return. Yesterday was still another ‘cover’ shift anyway for that lazy manager, whom apparently returned to work today. I’m sure he enjoyed his holiday. No-one believes he was actually sick. So yay, I’m on days off again. Proper days off I’m meant to have :)

Last night after work I caught the train to Petrie and my friend Moe picked me up, which was nice of him. We grabbed some takeaway and headed to Steve’s place for a night of Pokemon Monopoly.
I don’t believe I’ve played Monopoly since I was around 12 years old or so, and I’ve never watched Pokemon so I had no idea what any of the characters meant, although I did know Pickachu and Squirtle.

It was pretty fun, and something different. I got to meet Moe’s boyfriend and also Rhys’ boyfriend! Steve and I were the only single guys there out of the six of us. Moe’s boyfriend seems quite smart and strongly opinionated. Rhys’ boyfriend seems to suit him well also, and was quite a laugh.

We played ‘quick rules’ so that the game wouldn’t go on forever, although it still seemed to go for quite a while, maybe an hour and a half? I went bankrupt first HAHA, and in quick rules, if one person goes Bankrupt, the whole game is over, so that was it. I owed Steve like $950 and only had $900, so joked to everyone that I scored a ‘Wotif’ deal and Steve said the shower wasn’t working properly, so that good a good laugh out of everyone, and kept me in the game for maybe one more round of the board haha.

I saved a Snapchat to check everyone in with. I don’t know why it doesn’t seem to be showing up on my Facebook Wall, but it is in notifications. My phone had barely any reception at Steve’s place for some reason, even though we are both with the same company, apparently.

Steve’s cat, Satine, came out a few times whilst I was there, but was scared of everyone else. She’s a gorgeous kitty and seems to like me when I’m there. I’ve always loved cats though. Maybe they just know.
She hid under his bed for most of the night though, and when I ducked down to say goodbye to her, she just looked right at me, but ignored everyone else haha. Hard to believe she’s 15 years old now. Gotta love her. It was cute watching Steve chase her for a little while.
I really want a cat of my own like that one day :)

Moe and Michael headed off, then I hugged Rhys and his boyfriend Luke goodbye. For some reason Rhys looked really tall to me, which was strange considering I’d seen him heaps of times beforehand, and I doubt he’s had a growth spurt at his age haha. He almost looked taller than me! Maybe it was just in comparison to his new boyfriend, who was shorter than him. That must’ve been it.

Steve was really nice and drove me all the way home. He’d already driven to Hervey Bay and back that day, so to him it wasn’t a big deal, considering how long that drive is. We had a good chat on the way. He reckons he referred Moe’s previous boyfriend to this one. I said I preferred this one, although I did only just meet him tonight I guess. We agreed that as long as Moe is happy, then that’s all that matters :) They looked like a cute couple to me.
