Sunday AM in Day to day life from a woman that turned 60 in Oct 2014 and who lives on a farm and Retired on January 2, 2016. I plan to do more sewing, work outside in the yard and just enjoy my retirement.

Welp here it is. The clock on my laptop says it is 4:25am. I’ve been up since 3:45. Blah!! Woke up and right hip was stinging and couldn’t get in a position to make it feel better so up out of bed I got, turned on the coffee maker. I’ve played my FB game, did a couple of scans in my sewing room looking for some fabric to finish making another insulated dish carrier and will have to go in for a deeper “scan” later. Before I go in “deeper” I will have to take my shower and get dressed. It is just what I must do to get serious. I would love to start organizing the fabric again.....again is the operative word as when I start a project or am in the middle of a project very few items get put back in their respective places. At this time I have so many new pieces of newly laundered fabric pieces that it will be more difficult to find a home for all of them. I will thought but it will take time.
I’m “waiting” for the wintery weather to arrive. We are in a winter advisory with possible snow, sleet, freezing rain, and rain. My laptop gave the temperature for our area read 32 degrees which is warmer than it has been the last few days. The wind chill has been horrid but can get worse and is in other parts of the country. I hate the cold and especially the addition of the wind with the cold temperatures. Makes my face hurt and our wind chill hasn’t been as cold as some of you are dealing with these past few days. I would love to take the new vehicle on a venture, but it is just too cold for me and takes away the fun. It will warm up and I’m looking forward to it. I’m already planning what seeds I’m going to start inside. heehee
I “think” I’ve figured out most of the bells and whistles on the new vehicle. I read the book as I came to each button I wasn’t sure what it did and so I feel comfortable pushing said buttons. I do need to see if I can take the XM radio stations off the selections though as I have accidentally hit the the radio station changer on the steering wheel and it takes it to XM which the previous owner had for a while, but I won’t use it. There is a “sample” station that comes on every time I accidentally hit that button. Not a big deal, but annoying. Figured out how to fold the 3d row seating either both or one side to allow for more storage area and that seemed to make me feel all better. Silly huh, but it seemed to make me very happy. Now I can get a 50lb bag of dog feed back there without being afraid it will not fit. I did figure out how I locked myself out the other day. I hit the lock button on the drivers door when I got out and didn’t think about it. All the doors on the old Tahoe wouldn’t always lock. Lesson learned!
A drove the old Tahoe last night and that is good that it started. I was a bit concerned that with our cold temperatures and being kept in my garage for the last 9 years it may resist starting. Thankfully it did and I suppose it did ok since I didn’t hear from her. I did tell her to back it in at her place, just in case it may need a jump to start. Not sure that it will but on that hill it would make it tricky to get to it to jump it if needed.
Went to dad’s yesterday. He has one of the medic alerts, or medical alerts that VA sent to him. I set it up for him when he got it and not sure what happened, but it started calling me every night around midnight or 1230 to tell me it didn’t have a connection or something like that. Scared the bezeezus out of me every time my phone would ring in the middle of the night. Not sure if he put the batteries in backwards or not but I finally told him Fri what it was doing and he disconnected it. I went to set it back up yesterday. I’m not real fond of this electronic device as it will NOT allow you to hang up when it makes the call. I guess the creators of it didn’t think it should be able to be hung up in an emergency, but in testing it yesterday it called my house number, which is 1st on the list, then it call my sister’s house phone. I know it scared her as the machine talks and tells you “THIS IS AN EMERGENCY”. You can’t use the phone to talk nor hang it up. Finally when she “accepts” the call it will decide when the right time to hang up is. AND he isn’t impressed with it as it won’t work if he has an emergency in the field on the tractor. Humph!! Really? Now he wants me to order some alert system that uses satellite signal with the low cost of $14. I will ignore this request as long as I can, but I bet he makes me order it and then I’m afraid he’ll get ripped off. It is almost impossible for me to convince them that it may not be all it says it is and that they probably will jack up the cost per month over time, AND they will have his CC # so can do whatever they please.
I’m such a slow typist and now it is 4:52am. I have written enough for now as my life is pretty mundane right now which is a major blessing. I talked to seafarer on Friday and that has been the highlight of this year to date. It was such a joy and no one’s fault but mine that I hadn’t called her sooner. I’m not great at calling anyone these days and maybe that is because I spend so much time on the phone and computer at work. Some day that won’t be the case.
Going to take my shower and get dressed for hanging out here, then if the weather is good, I will get ready to go to church later this morning. Take care, stay safe, keep warm, and God Bless
