A tree down in the storm but not ours thank goodness! in The View from the Terrace

What a storm that was last night! We had planned to go to an open mic in Abergavenny but decided against because of the wind. I woke about 6am to go to the bathroom and lay awake feeling quite worried that the Christmas tree in our garden might come down on the house! This morning Hubby went to visit a customer in the next village and they had a similar tree that had come down in the night, thankfully it was further from their house and did no damage. The children still keep saying we should cut our tree down as the roots might damage the foundations but I love it. We hang bird feeders on it’s branches. The cats can’t climb that tree because it’s too prickly and we get lots of birds in it.
