Whine and Sneeze in Packrat

I haven’t written lately because I’d only be whining - I had a bug; I’d get better but not well with all the activity going on (going to work before I was ready, all the Christmas stuff - the cleaning, shopping, decorating). I went to work on the Monday before Christmas and the Monday before the New Year, but I never left my den the other days. I missed out on seeing one of my out of state cousins and a new acquaintance, but part of that was also the bad weather predicted.
…Free Spirit will again be free. He’s started divorce proceedings and still wants to work here.
…Free Spirit’s sister, the Dolphin Girl, came to my state to spend Christmas with her relatives here but never called me. Found out through Facebook after it was over. I felt slighted at first until I remembered when I was in her hometown for my birthday I didn’t call her, either. We have minimal contact now, and I miss the day when we would have at least tried to get together, although this year I wouldn’t have been able to go anywhere anyway. No arguments between us, just - things didn’t turn out between her brother and me, but I didn’t know that meant they’d disappear; it wasn’t the right time for either of us.
…Mr. Smith is the new director for a local city’s museum and will return to the state next month; he said we’ll celebrate then. I asked if I should bring him flowers and chocolates. Today I posted on his FB page a picture I took there with strange things on it and told him the place is haunted - which it is. A paranormal investigation group I belonged to in its formative stages went there.
He’s used to things like that from me. When he worked at the Smithsonian I kept asking him about “the secret room”.
On one of his visits here we planned to head into the woods looking for a creature said to lurk there.
On his last visit here a few months ago we had breakfast in the wee hours with one of his relatives who claims to see dead people.
…Sounds like I spend a lot of time on FB when actually I’m hardly ever there.
…S caused irreparable harm to my psyche when he told me that Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, and the Tooth Fairy don’t exist! (I told him they still visit ME! haha)
I’ve been wanting to suggest going to see “Selma” to him, but what holds me back is that the nights are frigid and I don’t want to be out in it while I still have a slight trace of whatever I had.
…This will come as no surprise to anyone who reads me or has any inkling of what I might be like - I could easily become a hermit.
