Blooming January!

Our weather may not be improving, I suppose we are in mid winter just now but we do have Camellia japonica blooming in January, the pink are more buds yet but the white are buds, flowers blooming and a few looking the worst after the frost a few day’s ago.

The pinks are sheltered buy the bungalow, the white are under some trees in the sheltered lawn, they always bloom early but this season is advanced by the mild weather we have had through autumn and early winter, if that could continue through the remaining weeks of winter their would be happy people here!

The small lawn doesn’t drain well, so I had to take my way across the sparse lawn, my smooth soled shoes slipping a little, but I managed to keep my feet under me as I made my way with camera in hand!

Today I removed the decorations from our Christmas tree, my Girls don’t like keeping festive until twelfth-night, I was away in Portsmouth when the tree went up; so this was my job! The set of tree light that would not light up while on the tree shone brightly after I had removed them from the tree, I shall push for new lights next Christmas; perhaps I should note that on the Mac’s calendar!

The tree and decorations may be packed away, but I a small set of battery powered lights in my littler area around my mac, I have kept them back purposely to have decorations of a sort up until twelfth-night.

Blooming in Cornwall.
