Woke up yesterday, the first day of the new year to snow on the Superstitions. Not just a dusting but a light coat all the way down to the valley floor. Beautiful indeed. Mom said that she had never seen that much snow on the mountains before.

We spent what turned out to be the coldest day in the Valley in two years sitting right here and doing not much of anything.

Today I got some things done that Mom had put on the list while we were sitting around. Fix the outside blind on her west door of her sewing room, load the old TV in the trunk to take to the recycle place, take down the Christmas lights, and sweep the water from the rain off the patio. All done. While Mom was in checking her mail and doing some errands I went in the park library and found two non-fiction books. I should finish up the sci-fi novel tomorrow.

We went out to run some errands and eat lunch at Village Inn.

The rest of this “chilly” afternoon we sat right here.

They’ve changed the forecast for next week. Now they’re predicting highs in the seventies. I guess it’ll be time to hang out by the pool again.
