Demand better in Everything

I’ve started writing an entry about 6 times over the last couple of weeks. I just can’t seems to get any thoughts down on paper (screen). I read what I write and it’s like incoherent ravings, most of it doesn’t make any sense. I’m not sure what’s wrong with me. That aside, I’ve been living a pretty quiet existence, I kind of wish I could hibernate through winter. Like from about a week after Thanksgiving till about the middle of march. That would be so relaxing. Anyway, on to the topic at hand. I watch a good amount of tv. Living the dream I tell ya. What I just can’t understand is the appeal of reality shows. Survivor, Big Brother and even The Amazing Race, those shows at least have some sort of point or goal. There is a task to be completed and you get to watch people try to figure out how to complete it. I get that, it’s marginally entertaining and they usually put attractive people on it. My confusion is with what I consider to be 2nd tier reality shows. Duck Dynasty, Pawn Stars, and shows like that. Have you ever been to a pawn shop? It’s not entertaining, it’s fucking depressing and grim. You walk in knowing that you’re going to get ripped off, because you have nowhere else to go. So there’s that and to make matters worse the family who runs it are just plain ugly, they are uncomfortable to look at, not good for a TV show. Duck Dynasty? At least I can take solace that in about 6 months to 1 year no one is going to care about them. A few barely literate hillbillys make duck hunting equipment and all of a sudden they are famous for being freaks. Wow let’s watch them fumble their way through a normal day. Can someone explain to me how Gordon Ramsey hasn’t been stabbed? He yells at and berates people who are holding knives. He’s not even yelling at me and I want to hit him with a shovel. Don’t even get me started about those Kardashian freak shows. Although if they broke their legs, covered them in honey and dropped them near a nest of fire ants, I would probably watch that. In fact I would probably DVR it so I could watch over and over. If you watch these shows, I don’t mean to insult you, but, demand better from TV.
