Originally, I was planning on doing a preliminary cleaning all around the apartment and then once that was done, I was going to go back and do a BJ (Big Job) cleaning the way that the author of that book said to do it.
I was going to start out in the kitchen, then do the bathroom, followed by the living room and then the bedroom. Wanted to get the worse part over with.
However, once I started the area in the kitchen where the cat has her food and litter box (yeah I know, she shits where she eat…small apartment), there was such a huge diference between parts of the wall and floor that I cleaned, I just decided to clean that small area as spotless as I can, using that authors methods as well as the equipment that she suggested.
I was reluctant purchasing the “Krud Kutter,” or KK, because although most of the reviews were positive, the negative ones were VERY negative, pretty much stating that it didn’t clean at all.
However, using it exactly the way the author said to do it it worked amaizingly well. Maybe too well, because now that some parts of the kitchen floor and wall are clean, the parts that are dirty look a lot more disgusting next to the clean areas.
I wont get into all the details of how she said to clean, but will touch on a few things. When using the full strength Krud Kutter, spray it on generously, scrub it with one of those green scrub pads to get all the crap lose and off. NOW, here is where the real magic happens, where the results totally blew me away. After you done the previous step, take vinegar, also full strength and just saturate the area where you used the KK. Then using a MICROFIBER pad wipe it all off.
This works for walls, counters, cabinets and floors.
To clean, follow “THE PATH,” as she calls it. Start where the wall meets the ceiling, and scrub and clean an area no wider then your extended arms length down to the floor, and then clean the floor (same arm length area) a few feet towards the center of the room or area.
You’re also spraying, cleaning and scrubbing EVERYTHING that is in that arm length area, as you go down to the floor. Obviously, if a kitchen counter and other stuff is in that slice of room, don’t use the same scrubbing equipment, scrubber and Microfiber cloth that you did the floor with.
The reason you do slices of the room like this, is because once you are done with that slice…well, you are done, and do not go back for anything because everything in that slice is clean. You go around the whole room like that, and once you are done, everything should be spotlessly clean in that area, and the only thing left to clean is the middle of the floor.
That’s the gist of the book. The book itself covers it in a lot more detail and in one section, she gives specific details on how to clean particular items, such as the fridge, microwave, rugs and so on, all the way to fucking baskets and everything in between.
Here’s the book.
Next entry I’ll show some pictures.
