Was Sunday. I did not do much.
I:
1. Called LBH.
2. Had lunch at Fayze’s. New item on menu: Par-Fayze - yogurt, fresh fruit and granola. I have a feeling the wait person makes/assembles some of the food. Tom asked how the Par-Fayze was and when I said it was very good, he said he was glad. Twice.
3. Did some semi-holiday shopping. SHHHHHHHHH. Don’t tell anyone but I got a new Jon Muth book called The Three Questions. It is a grand book. Just enough philosophy for any of us. Where should I be? Who should I be with? What should I do? Please feel free to answer these questions. I will have the book’s answers tomorrow.
This wasn’t on any of my lists but I bought and ate my first sushi today.
At the big grocery store, Woodman’s, today beside the weigh to order cold cuts and cheese counter was a lovely Asian young woman and a bunch of very pretty sushi. I told her that this was the closest I’d ever been to sushi and we had a very pleasant conversation - pleasant to me and I hope pleasant to her. She was from Myanmar which was formerly Burma. She has been in the US for four years, two in NYC and maybe some time in North Dakota. I bought a tray of vegetable sushi - brown rice, carrots, cucumbers and maybe something else. The greenish paste in the upper left corner is very hot.
i was in a good mood today and I went around charming or attempting to charm everyone I met. Luck them, huh?
There is a wonderful old fashioned hardware store in downtown LaCrosse. It is so old fashioned that it is closed on Sundays - even the Sunday before Christmas. But this was in the window:
I assume those are the employees’ stockings that are hung by the chimney with care.
Oh I got some new piano wax today so better watch out, Vose.
