Sitting in the lounge tonight something caught my eye, we had the lights on the tree and round the inglenook fire place, it looked lovely festive decoration; I looked at the tree for a minute or two but of course it doesn’t happen when your watching! So I kept my eyes on the old guys of ‘Last of the Summer Wine’ It’s two or three years since it finished, I have about a half of the programs on DVD.

My Daughter put the tree and the decorations round the inglenook while I was in Portsmouth, my Sister didn’t have their decorations up yet, they well have a quiet Christmas as their family are away in various parts of the world, they well celebrate Christmas twice, first on the day then again in January when most of the family well be gathered.

While I was enjoying the antics of the old guy’s I thought something had changed, looking at the tree I cough see the top half of the tree was in darkness! So I have a job tomorrow, to fiddle through the branches and decorations for the fuse lamp; a sort of Christmas tradition carried on down through the years I have taken on from Dad ….

I have began wrapping the gifts I’m giving tonight, it’s not an easy job with three humans and two dogs coming and going, I should keep a sheet ready to through over a wrap in progress! Still it’s a start, I like a quiet Christmas Eve as a peaceful gap between getting ready and the day it’s self! If the aerial should be not fixed by then I do have ‘The Snowman’ on DVD, the Christmas Day seen in that animation is much like the Christmas’s I recall before my Sister was bourn; with out the flying Snowmen of course – alas!
