After playing bridge most of the day Monday, I see that my calendar is clear all the way to Christmas! No more parties, unless something impromptu comes along. Tuesday I got up early and dragged Bob out to drive me around. It took seven stops, but I got all my Christmas shopping done, package sent to Montana, and lunch out. We hadn’t planned on doing lunch, but just before noon, I got a call from our building’s office saying that HUD was doing an inspection of the properties and had randomly chosen our apartment by computer as one of the target inspections and would be there within the hour. The superintendent would be with the inspectors and it would only take a few minutes…but it would be fine if we were not home… Well, there was no way we could get home from where we were when they phoned… and if the super ever really wanted to get into our apartment, there was no way to stop him… got to trust people sometimes. So we went to lunch, then finished the shopping and came home and took a nap.
I still have a few cards to write and mail. The last of the gifts are for Son and family, and we won’t be doing presents with them until they get back from ND, I have a whole extra week to slide them into gift bags…(Don’t you just love gift bags? I used to love to wrap the presents, but the bags are sooooo much easier!) Since we will not be having any company for Christmas, I don’t intend to do any extra cooking. I think I’m just about ready for Christmas!
