It is almost 4pm and will be by the time I type out this entry. I took today off. Yeah!! But wait, had two appointments today but both were here at home. The first one was at 10 am and it was originally scheduled for tomorrow AM. Heh. I had called Dish to get my receivers upgraded since I had receivers that were not going to work soon. I thought it was this month, but the young man I spoke to to make the appointment said I had until the 15th of January. We never know what kind of weather we’re going to be blessed with in middle US so I scheduled the appt for today. Of course the “time” of the appointment start out to be between 12 noon and 5pm. Since I figured I’d be confined to the house today anyway I called to see if the appointment for tomorrow morning could be switched to today and the lady was more than happy to switch. My body chose to wake up at 4 AM so after a few cups of coffee, playing my FB game, and taking a shower, I began to get the house ready for visitors. Didn’t take long and even swept and mopped the kitchen. Got my laundry done to include hung up and put away. Started getting Jacob awake at 9 and by 9:30 I was not as “gentle” with the demand to get up and get ready for the lady. He was up, dressed, and sitting on the sofa waiting by the time she got here, although he wasn’t as “awake” as he should have been. By the end of the time, he was more than awake and ready for this question session on his Individual Plan to be done. Before the lady was done with her stuff, the Dish folks called me and said the technician would be here between 11:45 and 1.
Fifteen minutes after she left, the DISH tech got here. Two hours later (maybe a little less) they were packing their stuff up outside and giving J and I a lesson on the new remotes. The 2d tech arrived after the 1st tech had already installed the new dish receiver on the outside, so they made quick work of the inside change. They even gave me a remote for my bedroom which I use a cable splitter to hook into my bedroom TV. The new technology now has the ability for me to switch channels on the LR TV from my bedroom. How cool is that? I probably won’t, but I can. Heehee.
Added a few more decorations inside the house and now have the big blow up Santa standing beside my concrete driveway pad. His head touched the edge of the guttering so had to move him away a bit and tied him to a shepherd’s hook pole. Got him on a extension cord and timer running from inside my garage. It is time controlled and not dark/light controlled so he will come on 2 Xs a day.
I guess that is about it for today. Just received a call from my boss telling us to report to work on Monday. I guess I need to watch the news as it sounds like the budget didn’t pass or a contingency to keep it running? I thought they had passed a short term contingency but maybe not. Wow the politicians just do not learn do they? Don’t answer as I already know the answer. Blah!!
Hey if they shut us down again, I’ll go Christmas shopping!! STUPID STUPID politicians!! ALL of them!!!! THERE pay should be withheld until an agreement is made and signed!
Ok. Now I shall end this entry and watch my TV with HD channels and a new HDMI cable. Sweet!
Take care and God Bless!
Edit**Forgot to mention that the downside of upgrading the Dish receiver is that I lost ALL of my DVR’d programs and movies. Had several movies for me to watch during my Christmas time off and several Hallmark movies too. Dang!
