Kate looked into the bathroom mirror as she finished getting dressed. Skin tight black running pants with matching front zip windbreaker completed the outfit for tonight. Kate’s blonde hair was in a bun ready for her Steeler’s baseball cap and a bandanna was pocketed if there was need for a mask. Even her sneakers were black for blending into the night. Kate looked to the mirror and said to herself,
“Ready to rock and roll.”
Kate grabbed her iPod, keys, detectives badge and ID, driver’s license, and headed out the back door. The Mustang was parked in the alley behind the old garage and fittingly it too was black. Kate was the proud owner of the 2012 Ford. She didn’t give a shit about comparisons to the classic designs of the past. The guys at work can all go suck her dick over the verbal masturbation about her cars design and if it kept with the tradition of a Mustang. Six speed manual transmission and 305 horsepower with leather interior thank you very much.
Usually Kate would give it a few loud revs but tonight the less noticed the better. She turned the key to power up the GPS and enter an address. Afterwards she fired the engine and headed to the suburbs southwest of the city. Kate dug in her console and found Dark Side of the Moon and pushed the CD into the player.
Kate drove for a bit aimlessly with the GPS volume down to shut up the irritating bitch who kept on “recalculating.” Kate wasn’t quite ready for this evenings planned activities. Moving through the gears as she drove through the city was erotic. She could feel the power in the shifter and the vibration of the engine and exhaust system coming from below. Kate realized she needed to refocus herself before she found herself in orgasm while driving.
Kate turned up the GPS and followed the electronic bitch lady towards her final destination. Once she was within a mile of the home she started looking for a discreet place to park. Walmart came to the rescue. Kate pulled in and parked close to an easy exit but far enough in the lot she was mingled with other parking customers. Kate quickly got her bearings and put on her cap, clipped the iPod to her sleeve with the ear buds around her neck. Kate looked in the rear view mirror and said to herself,
“Come on Kell, let’s go get our pound of flesh.”
Kate double checked for the flip blade she kept concealed in her jacket. The snubbed nosed 38 was zipped in her interior vest pocket and was only for unseen emergencies. Guns make noise and noise makes great plans go awry. Kate got out of the car and left the keys in the ignition. She locked the doors and put her spare key in her sock. Kate jogged off into the darkness.
Nice neighborhoods like these had wide sidewalks and bike paths that made jogging easy and also out of the road and traffic. Kate knew exactly where she was going and leisurely jogged along. She was barely visible in her dark clothes under the deepened darkness of the trees. Pink Floyd has gone from the car stereo to the iPod. As far as Kate was concerned it was music that never aged. It defined her and calmed her.
Her final destination appeared ahead. The house sat back from the road. It showed a family of wealth and means resided on such a large lot. Lights beckoned at the front door and the driveway had solar powered lights that defined the way. Kate was planning on a more discreet entrance.
The yard was bordered with hedge so there was plenty of cover to make her way to the back of the house. Kate found the back yard more bright than she hoped for with large windows overlooking the beautifully manicured landscaping. Kate stayed close the house. She found a window where she could remain under cover yet see into the home. Eventually Kate spotted what she hoped to find, the infamous and always unlocked sliding glass door.
Kate could see there was no one in direct view and quickly made her way to the sliders. As expected they were unlocked and she was in without hardly a sound. Kate found herself standing in the breakfast nook attached to the kitchen with both rooms unattended. She quickly made her way to the noise of a TV and found Mr. Randall M. Douglas watching CNN in a leather recliner with drink in hand.
There was no hesitation as Kate walked directly to Douglas. By the time he was aware of the intruder Kate was upon him with knife open and displayed. Douglas glanced at his cell phone on the end table but that chance had come and went.
“Ah, ah , ah Randy. There will be none of that.”
Kate unzipped her jacket and shed it to the floor. Douglas was surprised to see this strange woman naked from the waist up. The running pants were pulled down and kicked off and Kate stood naked except for her bikinis.
“What the fuck is going on here lady?”
Douglas brought the leg rest down as though he was intending to get out of the chair and Kate shoved him back into the chair as the drink glass went flying. She straddled Douglas pinning him into the chair with the knife pressed to his cheek.
“Randy, we have good news and we have bad news. I believe we should always start with the bad news so we can end on a positive note. Don’t you agree Randy? Don’t you like good news Ran-deeee.?
“You’re fucking crazy. you’ll never get away with this.”
Kate slashed Douglas’s cheek wide open and screamed in his face,
“Shut. The. Fuck. Up.”
“The bad news Randy is you are a lying, useless, piece of shit. You beat, rape and prey on women who fall for you’re bullshit and money.”
Douglas could not believe what was happening and started begging.
“Please don’t hurt me. I’ll do whatever you say....
Kate showed a maniacal smile and leaned close and said,
Well thank you Randy. that is very cooperative of you. Now where were we? Oh yes. The good news. Randy the good news is that all your troubles are going to go away. Randy you wouldn’t happened to have raped and murdered anyone around these parts now would ya? No lying now. I would get upset if I thought you would lie to me.”
Douglas took one breath to speak. Kate slammed the knife deep into his throat and said,
“Sorry Randy, once a liar always a liar. You lied in court and you will lie again. That’s the good news Randy. You’ll never lie again. Oh ya, or rape and murder anyone either.”
With those words Kate got off of Douglas and went in search of a bathroom. She showered, dressed and wiped down the house for prints and DNA. Once her cleanup was done she donned her unsoiled clothes. Kate left as she came and calmly jogged back to her vehicle. As she drove away Pink Floyd sang of a lunatic in their head. Kate smiled and sang along,
“Got to keep the luna on the path....”
