It seems that I have not written here in some time. I read my friends and sometimes comment, but have not been motivated to write real entries. Don’t know why. Just lazy I guess.
That and I’ve been quite busy the last couple of weeks. It’s been party-party-party. I’m about partied out! I actually declined the luncheon with the bridge group(s) today, but there is a “social” here at the center later on this afternoon. And tomorrow a Christmas tea here in the building put on by our very best resident cook. She been baking and cooking for weeks for this, so I think I have to do that. I think that will about finish the Christmas parties....and I’m really ready for that!
But after that, the Christmas plans wane. The “kids” are going out of town to spend the whole week of Christmas with daughter-in-law’s family. Made me kind of sad, but I totally understand that I have to share. We will do something with them after they get back. My good friend Barb jumped right in and invited us to have dinner with her family…there’s a story to that:
Back in 1973, when we both had young families and bot happened to be living in North Dakota and had no other family around, I had them over for Christmas dinner. She laughed and said “It’s only been 41 years and I get a chance to reciprocate!”
What could I say?
