Giving at Christmas.... in blackpropaganda

The wind was blowing, the hail lashing down - and at last you felt winter was arriving. Today snow is forecast over 250 metres - and there is talk of a White Christmas - but
I hate all those adverts with the snow falling gently onto pristine white snowy streets - everyone able to get around easily - all with smiles on their faces - does that really sell stuff for Christmas!
Let’s have the reality of skidding cars, slush, crying kids with soaking wet clothes, and pictures of travellers at Heathrow Airport having Christmas on the floor.

OK - I must be a bit splenetic this morning - not sure why - things are OK, some cards are written - maybe it is just the passing of time - and remembering simpler times.
Anyway, on the issue of Christmas I liked this one on the theme of giving.....

Good to see that the supply of bad taste cards & funnies has not yet dried up! ;-)

Hahaha! Yeah, I had so many delusions about snow growing up in the desert of south Texas, but when I moved to a place where it actually does snow, my first shock was that after about an hour in the city, most of the snow is dark brown, muddy, and disgusting!

well people in the UK should learn how to drive in show then :P

Snow falls gently now and then, probably more often here than there because there is more wind there. I do remember when I was there in 2009 that on Christmas Eve it snowed, gently. the man and i ran outside to enjoy it. it was beautiful and reminded me of home, since it doesn't often snow there.

The problem is that we have it so rarely that no one gets used to it - and it always seems to come as a surprise - not worth investing in equipment if it is only used every 10 years. Of course, the first fall of snow is magical - I have to be restrained from running out into the garden - but like so much in life it soon loses its magic

Yes snow is beautiful to look at when it first falls. I love looking out my living room window at it.
