The love of animals....latest! in blackpropaganda

At last I have put on a winter jumper - for some reason I thought the thin ones would do - but not today - around about freezing early on - and then only climbing up a little way. Winter is getting closer.

And sad news from neighbours - their much beloved ginger cat has heart problems and has been in the vets for two days. I fear it will not leave since the medication is merely a palliative measure.
I was out with them walking today when they had to phone up for news - it was not good - and the tears began to spring in her eyes. They have no children - the 8 year old cat is a surrogate - much loved and cosseted - much talked about - but now, it seems, going to the great cattery in the sky.
I am sure anyone who has a pet can understand the feeling - we have cats and dogs and when I took a cat to the vets with an incurable problem I had to leave her there - I drove away with tears falling down my cheeks telling myself it was for the best. SW… still has my text RIP on her phone!.
The last dog we had died in kennels while we were away - we knew he was not long for the world and told the owner not to worry if anything happened. However, apparently there was a bitch on heat in the kennels, and on being exercised in the same field he had the most enormous erection which would not go down. The next day he died. I am convinced the strain was eventually too much for him - but what a way to go!
