Yesterday I awoke to frost on the cars, under foot was ok, so I was able to walk down the drive with the waist-bins; much better than sliding down.

Today awoke to frost most every where, under foot was ok as long as I was careful, also today I needed to be on the road a eight, Ziggy was going to see Melissa again. It’s an hours trip normally but eight o clock isn’t normal, when I got to the A30 the traffic was dense and slow, someone was good enough to flash and eased his speed so I could get out, up a head was an early farmer with his tractor.

Melissa is very good with dogs, she sorted Ziggy out in five minutes on the first visit, and she has a plan to control Ziggy’s eye blacking on the spot jumps, turn them into a trick or exercise; it will start with getting him to jump to touch your held out hand with his nose. As soon as Melissa said it, it made sense; Melissa’s like that every visit!

Last time Daughter and Ziggy went Sweetheart took them, that time it was foggy, this time it was clear and I could see the coast as we got near, Sweetheart went the other way today, today is Lola’s day to visit her groomer, so I’m poking the keyboard I’m waiting to see our smart Westie!

On getting home I found the lower part of the drive rather narrower than when I left, thankfully it was small tree that had come over and was resting on the gate, so before coffee I was about with the long handles lopper and my greenwood saw, and my Son carrying bows and braches up to the lower lawn, which isn’t much of a lawn since the workers; now you cant see the first third!

Lola has arrived home well groomed and smelling very sweet, Ziggy takes several deep sniffs as if making sure it is Lola under the sweet odder, as some point Lola has had enough sniffing and turns to Ziggy growling; he turns away as if he is thinking ‘Yep – that’s Lola’

Today is our second cold day, it feels proper winter all of a sudden, today I have had a rummage in the drawers, I was after and found a vest, I only have two as I seldom feel the need of them but I’m quite happy to have them, living in a county that is often said doesn’t have a winter; since being here we have had three cold winters – one of them very cold.

I must find my second vest, just in case ……………….
