I am so NOT good at housekeeping. I’ve been doing things that I put off until an event such as Thanksgiving and having people come that don’t come very often. I am having a hard time keeping on task as I find things that need to be in another room. I take the object or objects to put in the proper place and then see something I need to do there too. The morning cleaning was put on hold for a couple of hours so that a Medicare lady could do J’s quarterly survey. One more to go and it will be done. This has been happening every quarter for TWO years. I know I am ready for it to end and so is Jacob. STUPID questions that you still have to answer even if the 1st one in the series is no. *Sigh

Dad did get to come home, and he is better but not getting as strong as I’d like to see. The effects of this unknown virus has left its mark and found out today he took a pretty hard fall this week. I see “ugly” in our future and I can’t express how much I dread the possible placement in a facility but not sure any of us will have a choice. It would be an answered prayer if HE came to the conclusion that maybe he needs additional oversight. Don’t see that happening but with God, all things are possible. His sister, my 92 yr old aunt, went to live with her daughter at the beginning of this month. Matter of fact, Dad was on his 2d day in the hospital on the day her daughter loaded her and some of her things to head about 4 hrs from here. Yesterday Dad talked to his sister and she is insisting on coming back home so her daughter will bring her back next week sometime. These old folks are going to cause me to have a stroke. Seriously. My BP has been over the top and my doctor said it is stress. Ya think? In addition to the elder relatives, it is deer season here and my son will again arrive this evening with grands in tow for me to keep while he hunts and DIL works. I really don’t mind, but the pounding headache that I can’t shake is not really looking forward to a raised noise level and activity in the house. I will survive and deer season ends Tuesday. Then Thanksgiving and then maybe, hopefully, by the Grace of God some quiet time. However, on the 1st of Dec I will take Dad on our 2hr drive to his doctor’s appointment and a test that was ordered prior to his hospital stay.

I am praying that I am approved for the incentive retirement plan and if it is approved I may retire prior to the date I had had in mind. I am hoping that not having as much responsibility and not having to worry about missing work will ease the stress in my life. I am praying it doesn’t increase the stress since I won’t have a job to get away from the home stress. I am still in wonderment that I have waited all my working life to be able to retire, and the grass on the other side has a bit of dingy look about it. Crazy.

I have all the food bought for Thursday and that includes a 20lb turkey and a spiral ham and I am off work Mon-Thursday. I will use the pre days to prepare, cook, chop, and do everything a head of time that I can. Sister and her DIL will come Wed afternoon and help peel about 13-15lbs of potatoes and get ready to cook on Thursday morning. My daughter and DIL will prepare some sides and so will my sister and her DIL so we got this. Brother in law is going to fix some venison and I won’t be worried about buying an additional ham or having enough meat for dinner. That was a big relief when he said he would do the venison.

I used my two taller ladders to clean and dust the ceiling fan and the light fixtures in the fan in the LR. I love my cathedral ceiling EXCEPT when I need to clean the ceiling fan blades or change a couple of the highest recessed lights in the kitchen. Oh well, you do what you must when your procrastination time is over. ;) I was even able to get the top of the kitchen cabinet cleaned and dusted and the different things that I have placed n top are now clean and shiny again. I feel so much better to get that done.

Take care, God Bless and have a very Happy Thanksgiving!! Think of you often and prayers for a safe and Happy family filled time.
