Escape? in A small but passable life.

We got the Thanksgiving dinner shopping done. It was a bizarre shopping trip. We didn’t have a list. We got things we just ran into that were on sale. We decided to wait on some items. It felt almost random but we got everything we needed. At the checkout we waited for the total. We had $96 on the EBT. Jassy had cash in case we went over. The total? $91 and some change. Crazy guessing by us. Jassy gave me a $5 to go with the $5 left on the card for coffee later in the month.

So, we’re set for Thanksgiving. Including a 17 pound turkey that we found for $17. A great deal. Jassy’s mom will come and get the bird a few days before Thanksgiving. And then we’ll all go up there to eat.

I finally decided to stay warm this Winter. I booked flights to and from Phoenix last night. December, January, and February away from a Midwest winter suits me fine. December 4 to February 26. Good enough. Mom is already working on a to-do list for me.

So yeah, not quite two weeks and I’m out of here.
