NJM20 in NoJoMo 2014

Things I always did with my dad when I was small . . .

My Dad was the fun parent so there were lots of things we did when I was small.

When my sister and I were really young, when he got home from work he would play with us while my Mom did her thing, not sure if she was unwinding or cooking, but my Dad would play with us, flip us around in the air, let us be airplanes while flying thru the air on his feet, I’m sure you guys know what I mean, lol. He’d also tickle me until I pee’d myself, oh I could only hold it so long, lol.

When I was a little older, we’d go camping all summer, my Mom would stay at the trailer with us and our Aunt and cousins, while my Dad and Uncle went back to the city to work for the week. They’d return Friday evening with supplies and a whole week to erase, lol, but early Saturday morning, before the sun came up, even before the mosquitoes came out, he’d wake me up and we’d put the canoe into the lake and we’d go fishing in the quite of the dawn. It was amazing to spend that time, quietly as we did, together.

When I was a little older, my dad and I would occasionally stay up late and just discuss life in general. We’d talk about religion and politics and whatever else was going on in the world and our lives and before you know it, it would be two or three in the morning and I would often have school in the morning, ugh, lol.

Boy I sure do miss him.

I will always be thankful for having him in my life.
