Clinic Visit, Again in Still Listening to Spirit

I am still suffering terrible pain in ribcage front and back. I was in so much pain Saturday night, that at 9pm I called Madame for some pain relievers. Bill picked them up. Relief. Happened again Sunday and again relief.

Madame saw Lynne at a baby shower this weekend and told her that I wasn’t doing well at all. Lynne told her she would be out of town this week, but she would talk to Carol and I should make an appointment with her.

I called the Clinic and they were able to fit me in at 11:15a. I was in pain when I woke up this morning and didn’t take anything for it. Carol took info, examined me, poked at me and then did chest x-rays to make sure there wasn’t any thing she was missing.

I got into one of the gowns after stripping to my jeans. Assistant came back in and said, let’s go. As we progressed down the hall she said “We just got our portable x-ray machine, I’m excited to use it.”

I said: “Well why am I walking to it? If it’s portable you should have brought it to me” She laughed.

It took 2 assistants about 20 minutes to do a front x-ray and side view. Doesn’t matter now. Carol came to look at the x-rays on the screen of the machine and had me look too. Lungs clear, no obvious breaks, etc. Carol said she really thinks I was too vigorous too long doing the arm/weight exercises and really tore the cartledge between the ribs back and front.

She gave me hydrocodone to take care of the pain. It does tamp down the pain to a dull ache instead of a roaring torture.

Weighing at the Clinic shows another 10 pounds lost in the last 2 weeks. That makes total lost at 65#. I put on a 2X t-shirt after my shower (have been 3X for years) and that 2X is baggy. Being sick and in pain is not a healthy way to drop pounds.

I have nothing else right now. Still wondering when or if I will ever bounce back to health and find joy again.

Blessed be!

Thank you for sharing this with us. I am trying to think if there is anything we can do to help lighten this oh so difficult time for you... Clear lungs are good! But I know it probably doesn't feel like that right now.

I'm there too. Sometimes all you can do is laugh. My ankle arthritus leaves me waddling when I want to be out there running.

I had a bad fall a few years ago and tore a bunch of ribcage cartilage in my back. I would rather have a broken bone than torn cartilage, honestly. That was the most painful, debilitating injury I've ever had.
Wishing you quick healing. (((Hugs)))

Looking at this with a serious tilt to the head and a pain in the heart...so sorry to read that this is how you feel. That's a lot of weight to drop --- wow. Has to be a reason. We were bummed up at about the same time. My tendons are in order now and I hope yours will be soon. Oh dear!
