As days in mid November go today was wonderful, no rain what so ever; but we did have mostly clear skies with of course winter sunshine! With this lovely day you would think I would be out with a camera, instead I was catching up with a few jobs I didn’t do when the workers were working, a rather worse for weir settee had a ride to the tip; after I had taken it apart with an hammer….
We moved down there with two settee’s, a three seater and the two seat settee which went out today, the three seater went two years ago and felled the car; the two seat settee went in nicely. So in our lounge now are two baskets of logs, two coalscuttles full and the cupboard close to the fire is full with kindling and firelighters; and most definite sine of winter is here.
Tonight I noticed in the night sky The Squire of Pegasus, a constellation seen in late summer and through autumn, now by midnight it sinking towards the west, and now rising in the east is Orion, for fifty years I have seen Orion appear in the east to announce winter is here. Tomorrow we have weather warnings, heavy rain enough to cause disruption to travel ………
