Monday again. Sipping coffee and getting ready for the week ahead.

So here we go with the morning routine…

I’ve finished my latest 6-week weight training program, so today I’m starting this one: Caroline Girvan’s Fuel Program.

It’s supposed to combine all of the weight training I’m used to with the Iron series (that I’ve done 2X in a row now), but adding more of a cardio element to it during the workout. Meaning, I think it’s supposed to keep your heart rate higher than the previous series where I was just doing straight lifting at a pretty slow pace. Sure, I probably could have gone faster, but I was focused on my form. NOW I’m nervous about upping the intensity!!

But I have noticed a couple of pounds creeping up on me during my daily weigh-ins! I know that you can say it’s the addition of muscle, but there’s a way that you can build muscle AND lose fat AND keep the weight on the scale the same, and that’s what I’m working towards. I want to replace the areas that are holding on to the fat with muscle, and I think the added intensity will help.

Every morning I actually dread doing my workout, but every morning I’m also thrilled when it’s done. I feel accomplished and stronger. This proves to me that life is not supposed to be easy.

The best part of life is when you’ve gotten through the hard stuff, however big or small!

And boom. I think that last sentence will be the message for today.
Love you.
