Zero Dark Chirpy in Book Two

I woke up at 4:45.
If I wake up anytime after 4am, I just go ahead and get up. The sun comes up at about 5:30. The birds wake up shortly before that. Someone here on PB called the time Zero Dark Chirpy*. I stole that idea for the title of today’s video.

Zero Dark Chirpy

I went for breakfast. There was one line instead of two. It is a bad system - one line for the steamed buns and one live for everything else. The old guy who steams the buns likes me and told me to get in front, form a new line instead of joining the end of the line. Then he served me. That’s not really his job. In yesterday’s video I talked about how being a regular at a restaurant is like having another family.

After that, I grabbed an e-bike from in front of the station and rode down to the 西子灣夕照觀景坡堤. I was surprised by the number of fisherman. That’s where I made today’s 10 minute video. A big boat came in through the narrow mouth of the harbour just as I was finishing up my video. That sort of thing makes my day. I don’t know why I like looking at boats so much.

And here we are six hours later.
I walked my 10,000 steps. I made my daily video. I made a new friend when I commented that I liked his Brompton. I spoke to the missus on the telephone. I went shopping and bought milk, sports drink and Dorito’s. I played a video game. I messaged an online friend, we kidded around back and forth for about an hour while I was walking. I stopped several times. What’s interesting to me about that is that I did all that mostly on my phone while I was walking from 西子灣 to home.

*Zero Dark Chirpy. It’s funny how the stuff we share here becomes part of our thoughts later.
