Where's Bob walking? in Book Two

Today I saw a guy who I met last week. He didn’t see me.

It is now 8:15 Wednesday morning and I am out on my 26th floor balcony with a cup of coffee. I hear the city rumbling and humming. The school across the way is having their morning assembly. Some days, there is a bit of English or an English song.
Not today.

I woke up shortly after 5am. I like getting up with the sun, before the sun. If I wake up anytime after 4am and before 6am I know it’s going to be a good day.

I made coffee, checked around the internet and then went out for breakfast.
The Taiwanese breakfast gets me out of the apartment early in the morning. Steamed soup buns and a big bowl of soy milk. A very short line up and a few open tables early in the morning. Lots of old guys like me.

I finish and then walk down to the river.
My new hobby is to do a ten minute monologue as I take my morning stroll. I have a little Insta 3S that attaches to a magnet that I wear on a lanyard under my shirt. POV. Today I talked about the upcoming 4-day weekend and my thoughts of returning to Canada. The channel is called, “Where’s Bob Walking?” but I’m going to change the name to The Bob Pod.
I have 6 followers.

Bobcasting

I upload the video straight to Youtube through my phone and then I put in my earbuds and listen to the news. It is April 2 here but it won’t be until at least tomorrow morning that the big tariff news is revealed. Recent and upcoming events are exhausting and interesting and entertaining. We are not amused.

I’ve crossed the river twice and I am getting close to where I started. As a general rule I prefer loops to there and backs. I see a guy I met last week. I said ‘good morning’ to him because I like to acknowledge fellow foreigners when I get the chance. He stopped and we shared our superficial stories. He asked for my Instagram so we shared that too.

I could have easily caught up to him this morning. I thought about it but I didn’t speed up. Sometimes you just want to be alone. I’ve shared enough today.

You work is quite polished; even professional. I made engineering videos (in my field) for years for students and colleagues but they were all very dry and unentertaining to anyone who wasn't an engineer.

Thanks. Video making is a creative pursuit for me now.

I'm curious about the plethora of motorbikes. Do the Taiwanese use them because they are less expensive than autos, more economical, or is parking/storage an issue? I wonder if the city is so dense that maybe they are just easier to get around on? And what happens when it rains, are they still used?

I think the plethora of motorbikes is a density issue. They are cheap and easy to park. When it rains, you put on a raincoat:)
