I’ve been solving and helping people with online scams. It’s a steady business for me because it’s so prevalent and our outdated lawmakers don’t see the problem or understand it. Since last thanksgiving until last week I’ve solved 10 online scams where people have lost money. Most of them were coming out of the west coast here, majority in California, 2 in Washington and one overseas in Asia. The victims were even male and female, younger men and older women, all mainly going or recently going through some difficult life event and all lonely. Their desperate for love and attention and it blinds them with decision making and awareness. I am seeing more AI bots coming into play just in the last couple months. I have to use digital technology to scan pictures people send me of the scammers photos and see if they’re real or not. Quite fascinating the lengths and details the scammers use. Humans are so tricky when they want to be. It amazes me how smart the scammers are and why they choose to use their talents for this horrible underground business. Very seldom do I actually get to talk with the scammers after busting them but for example one guy said he was doing it for extra money since he was disabled and working from home. Another were young college kids just trying to make extra money. More are doing it for another shady habit like drugs, gangs, illegal activities that need funding. Money… and people who are struggling. The online platforms and social media that doesn’t do anything really to stop or prevent it. Also driven by money. It’s the world we live in. Which I try to refuse to give into and try to help more people and take out the problem makers then try and help them too because I know they are struggling as well. Idk, it’s very entertaining
