Small Talk in Life in General

I don’t understand people who just spill their guts about their personal life to a stranger.

I go to the auto parts store down the street to get a clay bar kit.

Oh side note, the reason I did that is I’m trying out this fancy ceramic coating I got but you have to clay bar the paint first to make sure it’s completely clean. I thought I had some put away somewhere but it turns out I didn’t. So I had to go overpay for some at the store.

Anyway, I’m at the checkout counter and this dude just immediately starts talking about how he and his wife and his wife’s sister all went out drinking last night and now he’s sore and his feet hurt and he’s ready to not be working. Like… out of nowhere. As if he and I had been having this conversation and he was just picking up where we left off… except I have never met this person before haha.

Then he goes into a tangent of all these medical problems he’s been having with his arms and legs and I’m going along with him being like “have you tried aleve, maybe shoe inserts”, you know, trying to be nice but I was slowly walking towards the exit at the same time to indicate I was ready to end this conversation I got sucked into and leave. But the dude just kept talking the whole time, even after several times I was like “well good luck with that man, see ya” and then he’d be like “oh and there’s this other thing.” OMG JUST LET ME LEAVE haha.

Like I feel bad for the guy I wonder if he’s feeling so lonely and isolated that he confides in anyone. Just maybe someone else who doesn’t have severe social anxiety!

Anyway, so later I’m out working on my car, I’m tired it’s been like 4 hours of meticulous detailing and I’m nearly done at this point and this guy walking his dog just walks up to me and starts talking about his cars and his dog.

Is there a sign on my back that says “free counseling”? haha like again I am friendly to the guy but he starts talking about his dad getting Alzheimer’s at his age and how he doesn’t want that happening to him and I’m like “OMG PLEASE I JUST WANT TO FINISH WHAT I’M DOING HERE BRO”
