It fizzled out in Stuff

Thankfully, the cyclone fizzled out before it reached the mainland.  In fact, it's only just about to cross now.  Man, this thing is slow.  It was doing my head in a little.  I really wasn't sure what to expect last night, as it had been downgraded to a Category 1 cyclone around 1am when I went to sleep.  I thought I may wake up sue to the wind, but I didn't.

It's been downgraded to a tropical low since then, so the majority of the gales are gone.  Phew!  I'm looking out of my bedroom window and there's just a lot of slow, steady rain.  I think it will last a while.  There are wind gusts now and then, so it's still not pretty enough to go outside.  It looks like I'll be going in to work tomorrow, as per normal, although I don't expect there will be much on the shelves until the trucks start arriving.  Most shops around here are still closed for the day.  My housemate went out and said there's a couple of coffee shops open, but that's about it.  I've been seeing Facebook posts about various pubs and cafe's choosing to open their doors, but yeah the major supermarkets and all those are staying shut until tomorrow.  Sucks the cyclone hit on my days off, otherwise I would have got free disaster pay, but that's the way the cookie crumbles.  Now to eat the rest of my cyclone-food I guess!
