Save your words,

These days they’ll fall on deaf ears

I’m not the one to put you back together this time

You’re pushing against the waves that will not succumb to the tide

Who are you to wave your finger?

Your ways I will never choose to be

I’ll never act the way you want me to

So please save your seething rage, save your disappointment

I will never choose this and I will never choose you

Who are you to wave your finger?

You carry that cross with such righteous poise

Your answers seep out in stylistic hubris

I will no longer inhale the words,

I will chew the paper ‘til the ink spills out over my lips

Who are you to wave your finger?

Trust me, trust me you’ve always whispered

I can never fall into the waters you poured for me

Without drowning, you can pull me out or I will suffocate you in

This is out and over and I am done

Who are you to wave your fucking finger?
