Well, I have updated my information since I am now a woman that is 60. Doesn’t seem possible but it is a fact. “Middle age” doesn’t fit now either nor has for several years, but not changing that so unless I get a wild hair I’ll be Middle Age Pearl until I am no longer of this world. Change is good, however with the changes on our diary sites I would hate to confuse anyone. Besides, Pearl is really my identifier and the Middle Age just lets you know it me from OD.
I have been busier than a cat in a room full of rocking chairs and I’m not seeing it get any better until after the 1st of the year.
Drama at work for the last couple of weeks may have been put to rest this week. At least the worst part, but not really sure yet. Conference calls for 2 days and meetings with my boss before and after not counting the regular weekly meetings. *sigh Too much stress makes a 60yr old a bit grumpy and tired.
Alternating weekends on having gkids stay with me on Saturdays have turned into a pattern and that is slowing down my ability to sew. This Friday evening, was almost an edge pusher over, as I took my dad, 3 of the grands and my autistic nephew and J to Walmart. Let me just say that I really needed a strong drink by the time we got home, but I refrained and my elder son who was along to was able to help distract me from the non stop demand for attention of my nephew. It actually was better that I kept him while his parents had a night out with my gkids here as he did play with my youngest gson after we got home. His attention span isn’t very long and nephew would try to engage a debate with either myself or Dude. It was price though when Dude told nephew if he lied to him he would have to stand in a corner. Then nephew asked him what a corner was. Youngest gson showed him an appropriate corner here in the living room. lol No more wild story telling after that explanation.
Thanksgiving is coming upon all of us and I must resolve myself that my home may not get the deep cleaning it so terribly needs before whatever guests attend. Not sure how many will bless my door but it can be as few as 20 to as many as 30+ this year. Next year is the off year but this year is the out of state nephews year to come to Mo.
Thankfully the menu is pretty much traditional so not much thought on what to prepare it is how MUCH to prepare and where on earth are they going to dine. I will have seating for 30 using the folding tables and chairs, the LR, and if need be, I’ll get out the lawn chairs. Not sure there will be room for the chairs but I have carpet which 6 years ago would have sent me over the edge to think of something being spilled on my new carpet. I still don’t relish the idea of spills on the carpet or furniture, but it is a bit older now and the price tag isn’t flashing in neon lights in my head. lol
Doll clothes are still in process and I need to get the completed outfits out and count them. I know I will make a couple of denim outfits and going to try my skills at making shoes for the dolls. The panties have not been easy and I’m still needing to adjust the pattern. I am not expecting to get much sewing accomplished until after Thanksgiving so that has assisted in reducing my obsession. That obsession has been taken over by another. I think I need meds!!
Voted Tuesday and so relieved the ads have stopped on TV and the computer.
Ok, so this wasn’t snippets after all, but I have finally taken the time to write an entry. Hope all of your are doing great. You are in my prayers as just because I don’t always get here to even read, I do think about my online friends. Take care and God Bless!
